XML Sitemap Generator
Paste the URLs you want search engines to find and get a standards-compliant sitemap.xml, with a line-by-line report of anything that would make the sitemap invalid. The tool never crawls your site: it works only with the list you give it, and the list stays on this page.
, 2026-01-31 after a URL to give it its own last-modified date. Nothing is fetched — only the URLs you paste are used. How to use
- Paste your page URLs, one per line — or a CSV export, whose first column is used. Relative paths like /about/ work if you fill in the Base URL.
- Choose how to set <lastmod>: leave it out, use today, pick one date, or give each URL its own date by writing "url, 2026-01-31".
- Optionally add <changefreq> and <priority> (other search engines may read them; Google ignores both).
- Click Generate sitemap and read the issues list: skipped lines, removed duplicates and stripped #fragments are all explained by line number.
- Download sitemap.xml (or a .zip of all files if the list was split), upload it to your site root and add the Sitemap: line to robots.txt.

- Over 50,000 URLs or 50 MB: numbered sitemap-1.xml, sitemap-2.xml … files plus a sitemap-index.xml, downloadable one by one or as a .zip.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter or open is sent anywhere. Privacy policy.
Limitations
- It does not crawl or discover pages — only the URLs you paste end up in the sitemap, and it cannot tell whether they return 200, redirect or are blocked.
- It does not submit anything: you upload the file and submit it in Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools yourself.
- Image, video, news and hreflang sitemap extensions are not supported.
- Trailing slashes and letter case are kept exactly as typed, because /page and /page/ can be different URLs — list the canonical form your site actually serves.
- Very large lists (hundreds of thousands of lines) are processed in memory and can take a few seconds.
FAQ
Does Google use changefreq and priority?
No. Google's sitemap documentation says it ignores <changefreq> and <priority>. It uses <lastmod> when the value is consistently and verifiably accurate, so only set it to the date a page's content actually changed.
How many URLs can one sitemap hold?
Up to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed. Larger lists must be split into several sitemaps listed in a sitemap index, which this tool does automatically.
Can a sitemap list URLs from another domain?
Normally no: a sitemap should only list URLs on the same host (and protocol) it is served from. The tool warns about mixed hosts and http/https mixes so you can fix them before uploading.
Does a sitemap guarantee my pages get indexed?
No. A sitemap helps search engines discover URLs, but each engine still decides what to crawl and index. Pages blocked by robots.txt or marked noindex will not be indexed because they are listed.
