SVG to PNG Converter

Turn an SVG icon, logo or illustration into a sharp bitmap for places that do not accept vectors. The SVG is redrawn at the size you choose rather than enlarged afterwards, so edges stay crisp at 4×. Rendering happens in your browser as an image, so scripts inside the file never run.

Runs locally — nothing you enter is sent Image & Design Free · no signup

How to use

  1. Drop an .svg file onto the box, click it to browse, or paste SVG markup into the text area.
  2. Pick the output format: PNG (keeps transparency), JPEG or WebP.
  3. Choose a size: 1× to 4× the SVG's own size, or Exact width (the height follows the aspect ratio).
  4. Keep the background transparent or pick a solid colour (JPEG always uses a colour).
  5. Check the preview and any notes below it, then click Download.

Examples

Icon with viewBox="0 0 24 24" at 4×
96 × 96 px PNG with a transparent background
width="2in" height="1in" at Exact width 1200
1200 × 600 px (2in = 192 px intrinsic width, aspect kept)

Supported formats

  • Input: SVG 1.1 / SVG 2 files or pasted markup, including inline SVG copied from HTML without an xmlns attribute (it is added for you).
  • Size is read from the width and height attributes (px, pt, pc, in, cm, mm, em or unitless), or from the viewBox when they are missing or given in %.
  • Output: PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 16,384 px per side and 64 megapixels.

Privacy

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter or open is sent anywhere. Privacy policy.

Limitations

  • Images, fonts and stylesheets referenced by URL are not loaded — browsers block external resources when an SVG is drawn as an image. Embed them as data: URIs instead.
  • Animated SVGs (CSS or SMIL) are exported as a single still frame, normally the start of the animation.
  • Text uses fonts installed on your device, so it can look different on another computer if the font is missing.
  • Scripts and event handlers in the SVG are ignored, so drawings that build themselves with JavaScript come out empty or incomplete.
  • If an SVG has no width, height or viewBox, the 300 × 150 px browser default is used, and the tool tells you.

FAQ

Will the PNG be blurry at 4×?

No. The tool sets the SVG's width and height to the output size (adding a viewBox when the file has none) before drawing it, so the vector shapes are rendered at full resolution rather than a small bitmap being stretched.

Is it safe to convert an SVG from an untrusted source?

Yes, as far as this page is concerned. The SVG is loaded as an image from a local Blob URL, a mode in which browsers never run scripts or fetch external files, and it is never inserted into the page itself.

Why are my images or web fonts missing from the PNG?

Files referenced by URL inside an SVG are not loaded when the SVG is rendered as an image. Embed them in the SVG as base64 data: URIs, or convert text to paths in your editor, and they will appear.

Why does JPEG not offer a transparent background?

JPEG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas would turn black. When you pick JPEG the tool always fills the background with the colour you choose (white by default).
