About ITInfoByte
A small site with a simple rule: the tools work for you, not on your data.
Who's behind it
ITInfoByte is a personal project, built and maintained by Amirtham, based in Chennai, India. There is no company behind it. The tools and guides come from things learnt over a career in IT — the small jobs that come up again and again, turned into tools that anyone can use.
It also started the way most tool sites probably do — getting tired of searching for "csv to json" and landing on pages that wanted a signup, an upload, or thirty seconds of ad video before converting ten lines of text. So this site does the opposite.
The rules the site runs by
- Your files stay on your device. The converters, hashers, diff checker and all the PDF and image tools run as JavaScript in your own browser tab. There is no upload endpoint — the server only hands you the page.
- No accounts, no paywalls, no watermarks. Every tool is usable in full, immediately. The output is yours, unmarked.
- Honest labels. What Is My IP Address, DNS Record Lookup and SPF, DKIM & DMARC Checker genuinely need a network service to answer, and they're marked Uses API right on the card. Tools marked On-device fetch their open-source processing library from a CDN the first time you use one — the library, not your file.
- Analytics only with consent. Google Analytics loads only if you accept it, and it never receives file contents or anything you paste. The privacy policy lists exactly what is measured.
- No tool is listed unless it works. Features that can't be done well in a browser — OCR, faithful Word conversion — aren't half-shipped with a disclaimer. They're simply not here until they can be done properly.
How it's built
The site is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript — no framework. A small Python script generates a dedicated page for each of the 81 tools. The PDF tools stand on excellent open-source libraries: pdf-lib (MIT), Mozilla's pdf.js (Apache-2.0), and JSZip (MIT). Credit where it's due — those projects do the heavy lifting.
Something broken? Something missing?
The tool list grows based on what people actually need. If a tool misbehaves, or there's a utility you keep wishing existed here, write to amir@itinfobyte.com — bug reports with the file type and browser you used are especially welcome, and tool suggestions directly shape what ships next.
