Privacy

This tool has to contact a third-party service to answer, so what you enter is sent to that service. See the network notice above and the privacy policy for details. Privacy policy.

Limitations

  • Requires an internet connection (the lookup uses the ipapi.co API).
  • Geolocation reflects where your IP block is registered — often your ISP's hub, not your street address. VPNs and mobile carriers shift it further.

FAQ

Why is the location wrong?

IP geolocation maps your address block to its registration data, which is frequently the ISP's regional hub. It is an approximation, not GPS.

Does this show my private/local IP?

No — it shows the public address seen by websites. Your LAN address (192.168.x.x etc.) stays inside your network.
