Network notice: Your code never leaves your device. The open-source formatter (js-beautify, MIT license) is fetched from the cdnjs CDN the first time you use the tool.
How to use
- Pick the language: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript/JSON.
- Choose 2 or 4-space indentation.
- Paste the code, click Beautify, and copy the formatted result.
Supported formats
- HTML (including embedded <style> and <script> blocks), CSS, JavaScript and JSON.
Privacy
Your input is processed in your browser and is never uploaded. The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads its open-source processing library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com — the library is downloaded, your data is not sent. Privacy policy.
Limitations
- Beautifying reverses minification's whitespace, but renamed variables from uglification stay renamed — no tool can restore original names.
- TypeScript and JSX mostly work but may hit edge cases, since js-beautify targets plain JavaScript.
FAQ
Can this unminify production JavaScript?
It restores indentation and line breaks, which makes minified code readable. Shortened variable names (a, b, c) remain — those are lost at minification time.
Does it execute my JavaScript?
No. The code is parsed as text and re-printed — nothing is evaluated.
