Examples
CSV in
name,role Ada,Engineer Grace,Admiral
JSON out
[{"name":"Ada","role":"Engineer"},{"name":"Grace","role":"Admiral"}]Supported formats
- CSV input: comma, semicolon or tab delimited; quoted fields with embedded delimiters and newlines are supported.
- JSON input for the reverse direction: an array of flat objects.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter or open is sent anywhere. Privacy policy.
Limitations
- Deeply nested JSON is not flattened into dotted column names — only flat objects convert cleanly to CSV.
- Very large files (tens of MB) are limited by browser memory since the whole text is processed at once.
FAQ
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so the tool is safe for sensitive exports.
How are commas inside values handled?
Fields wrapped in double quotes are parsed per RFC 4180, so embedded commas, quotes and newlines survive the round trip.
Can I convert JSON back to CSV?
Yes — paste a JSON array of objects and switch the direction. Object keys become the header row.
