Network notice: Your PDF never leaves your device. The open-source processing library (pdf-lib, MIT license) is fetched from the cdnjs CDN the first time you use the tool.
How to use
- Drop a PDF onto the drop zone or click to browse.
- Pick the position (bottom/top, left/center/right), the format, the starting number and the size.
- Click “Number pages & download”.
Supported formats
- Input: standard (unencrypted) PDF files up to 200 MB.
- Formats: plain (1, 2, 3), Page N, or N / total. Start from any number — useful when a cover page shouldn't count.
Privacy
Your input is processed in your browser and is never uploaded. The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads its open-source processing library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com — the library is downloaded, your data is not sent. Privacy policy.
Limitations
- Numbers are placed at a fixed margin; pages with content in that exact corner may overlap.
- Latin numerals only (built-in PDF font limitation).
FAQ
Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
Yes — set the start value. Starting at 0 or at 3 (to account for front matter) both work, and the N / total format adjusts accordingly.
Is the file uploaded to number it?
No. The numbers are drawn into the PDF in your browser; nothing is transmitted.
