QR Code Generator
Type a URL or any text and get a scannable QR code with a one-click PNG download. The code is generated locally in your browser — the text is never sent anywhere.
How to use
- Enter the URL or text to encode.
- Click Generate — the code is built locally in your browser.
- Click Download PNG, or right-click the image to copy it.
Supported formats
- Input: any text or URL (shorter content scans more reliably).
- Output: PNG image with a proper quiet zone, sized automatically to the content.
Privacy
Your input is processed in your browser and is never uploaded. The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads its open-source processing library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com — the library is downloaded, your data is not sent. Privacy policy.
Limitations
- Very long inputs produce dense codes that are harder to scan; keep content under a few hundred characters.
- Styling options (colors, logos) are not offered — codes are standard black on white for maximum scan reliability.
FAQ
Is the QR code generated locally?
Yes. The code is computed in your browser with the open-source qrcode-generator library (MIT) — the text never leaves your device, so it is safe for Wi-Fi credentials or private links.
Do generated QR codes expire?
No. A QR code is just an encoding of your text — once you save the image it works forever, with no account or hosting involved.
What error correction level is used?
Level M (medium), which survives roughly 15% of the code being damaged or obscured — a good balance of density and robustness.
